“PASSOVER AND THE EXODUS”
FEATURING SELECTIONS HANDEL’S ISRAEL IN EGYPT

Our program will feature a 30-voice volunteer choir representing multiple denominations across the area including:
Temple of Israel, Buncombe Street United Methodist Church, Cathedral of All Souls (Asheville, NC), Christ Church Episcopal, Congregation Beth Israel, First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville (NC), Fletcher United Methodist Church (Hendersonville, NC), St. John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church (Flat Rock, NC), Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Presbyterian Church (Travelers Rest, SC), and Williamston Church of God (Williamston, SC)

The performance will be directed by Temple of Israel Choir Director Dr. Laura Becker who, along with Rabbi Sam Rose, will provide background and commentary throughout the concert. The choir will be accompanied by outstanding local musician Hailey Anthum Hunter.

This concert will include an array of traditional Passover Seder songs, two moving selections from the “The Prince of Egypt” movie score, plus 13 dramatic solos, choruses and double choruses from the renowned classical oratorio “Israel in Egypt” by George Frederick Handel.

There will be an opportunity for audience participation, and you won’t want to miss Handel’s vivid portrayal of the 10 Plagues and the Israelites’ departure from Egypt! We guarantee you will find this program informative, entertaining and uplifting.
